The firm is proud to announce that Partner Mark A. Weitz, lead counsel on healthcare litigation, has recently obtained the dismissal of a complaint filed at the Texas Medical Board for a physician accused of border violations.
The dismissal was at the pre-investigation stage. The doctor was accused of a border violation alleging inappropriate touching and comments. This case involved a physician with an on-going relationship with the firm. Several years before, the firm had helped the doctor institute a chaperon program to prevent baseless claims of sexual impropriety. The program worked to perfection as the firm was able to provide signed chaperon statements executed on the days that the patient presented for care that completely destroyed the unfounded allegations.
